Deleting an Uber account is a simple process that only takes a few minutes to complete. Here’s how to delete your Uber account from a smartphone (iOS or Android) or desktop, as well as how to remove the app from your device.

  • iOS/Android: Go to Menu > Settings > Privacy > Delete Your Account. Verify your password, then choose Continue and provide a reason.
  • Desktop: Go to the Uber Account Deletion page and choose Delete My Uber Account. Then, follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Your account is deactivated and then permanently deleted after 30 days. You can reactivate your account by logging in to the app.

Delete Your Uber Account From a Smartphone

Follow these steps to delete your Uber account on an iOS or Android device.

  • Launch the Uber app from your smartphone, and make sure you’re signed in to your account.
  • Tap on the Menu button, represented by three horizontal lines, located in the upper left-hand corner of the Uber app screen.
  • When the slide-out menu appears, select Settings.
  • Uber’s Settings interface should now be displayed. Scroll down and choose the Privacy option.
  • Tap the Delete Your Account link, located at the bottom of the screen.
  • You’ll be asked to verify your Uber password. Type it in and tap Verify.
  • On the next screen, Uber says it’s sorry to see you go while displaying the number of rides you’ve had. Tap Continue.
  • Uber asks you why you’re deleting your account. Select from a list of reasons or choose Other if you’d rather not say.
  • Your account is now deactivated. Uber will permanently delete the account in 30 days.
  • If you change your mind and want your Uber account back, reactivate it at any time during the 30-day processing period simply by signing back into the app.

Delete Your Uber Account From Uber.com

Delete your account from a web browser on your computer, phone, or tablet.

Launch the Uber app from your smartphone, and make sure you’re signed in to your account.
