Starting with Windows 10 version 1903, May 2019 Update, the Sign-in screen gets updated with an acrylic effect. The new effect brings a translucent texture to the experience to help you focus in the sign-in task by moving the actionable controls up in the visual hierarchy while maintaining their accessibility.
Although it’s a nice visual addition, if this is something you don’t want to see during the sign-in process, you can disable the effect using the Settings app.

How to disable transparency effect in the Sign-in screen
If you don’t like the transparency in the Sign-in screen, you can disable the effect using these steps:
- Open Settings.
- Click on Personalization.
- Click on Colors.
- Turn of the Transparency effect toggle switch.
- Disable Sign-in screen transparency
Once you’ve completed the steps, the Lock screen will no longer show the transparency effect. However, because the effect in the Sign-in screen is part of the system Fluent Design experience, it’ll also disable the transparency across the operating system.
Open Settings.
Click on Personalization.

Disable Sign-in screen transparency
If the Sign-in screen doesn’t include the translucent effect before changing the settings, then you’re not running the version of Windows 10 that support this effect. The Sign-in screen with transparency is available with Windows 10 version 1903 and later.
